Artwork statement
THESEUS II (2025) marks the second in a trilogy responding to the written outcomes of workshops conducted by the artist in 2022/2023. These workshops invited participants to critically engage with their perceptions of national identity and belonging.
The performance draws upon the philosophical paradox of the Ship of Theseus—if every part of a text is replaced, does it remain the same? Audiences will be invited to rewrite, reproduce, and recreate the work. It examines themes of authorship, ownership, and power dynamics, questioning how narratives are constructed, redefined, and transformed within shared spaces.
