Nasir Nasrallah is an Emirati artist and curator (b.1984, Sharjah), who experiments with, and synthesizes, materials in his work, whether they are physical objects or ideas. His work is a highly personal response to his environment and the people and places he encounters. He finds particular inspiration in the physical objects he collects, such as toys and small consumer items, which he feels drawn to use in his work. Nasrallah graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communication engineering from Khalifa University, Sharjah (2006), he took art courses at the Emirates Fine Arts Society while studying for his degree.Nasrallah was the curator of Stories Yet to Be Told at Emirates Fine Arts Society, Sharjah (2014) and Questions, 4th Sharjah Children’s Biennial (2014). Nasrallah participated in the A.i.R (Artist in Residence) programme, a collaboration between Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, Tashkeel and the Delfina Foundation, and he won first prize at the 30th Annual Exhibition, Emirates Fine Arts Society, Sharjah.

The individual works presented by Nasir Nasrallah discuss fantastical elements that merge realities, becoming their own states of recreated surrealist landscapes. Nasrallah’s magical realism immortalizes his present. His work as maker and thinker is both a story and an illusion.
